TSB: Land Rover Power Steering

This bulletin applies to 2020 Land Rover, Defender and Discovery vehicles. JLR Engineering has had reports of no power steering assistance at the start of a drive cycle. An Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) warning message may be present accompanied by DTC U0400-81 set in the driver assistance domain controller (DADC). This may be due to a software error. 

Do not replace any parts before completing the following steps: 

1. Run the network integrity test (NIT) vehicle application. 
2. Run the power steering control module (PSCM) data collection module application. 
3. Disconnect the 12V battery and reconnect (the re-set procedure listed in the workshop manual). 
4. Confirm that the fault is now resolved.
