Range Rover EPAS

This bulletin applies to 2022 and later Range Rover, 2023 and later Range Rover Sport, 2021 and later Range Rover Velar and Range Rover Evoque, 2021 and later Discovery, Discovery Sport and Defender.

The vehicle may force the driver to apply a steady correction force to remain in lane when driven in a straight-ahead position. The electric power assisted steering (EPAS) system has a learning function that requires approximately 200 miles to adapt to the vehicle and apply full compensation. Learning is enabled automatically during straight-line highway driving.

Inspection Procedure

  1. Confirm that a steady correction force is required. If the effort is normal but the steering wheel is not in the straight-ahead position, check front wheel alignment.

  2. Check that all tires are inflated to the specified value.

  3. Check for visible damage to wheels and tires.

  4. Check that wheel nuts are torqued to specified value.

  5. Check for damage to the suspension/steering components,

  6. If steady correction force is the only concern, the EPAS mitigation system may not have accumulated sufficient data.
