TSB: Jaguar Loss Of Power Steering

This bulletin addresses no power steering assist in 2021-2023 Jaguar XF, I-PACE, and XE models caused by a software error. It guides technicians through diagnostic steps including network tests and battery resets before applying a software update for a permanent fix.

Jaguar Loss Of Power Steering

This bulletin applies to 2021-2023 Jaguar XF, I-PACE and XE vehicles. JLR Engineering investigations have had reports of no power steering assist at the start of a drive cycle. Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) warning message on the instrument panel and DTC U0400-81 may be set on the Driver Assistance Domain Controller (DADC). The cause is a software error. Do not replace any parts before completing the following steps:

  1. Run the network integrity test (NIT) vehicle application.

  2. Run the Power Steering Control Module (PSCM) data collection module application.

  3. Complete the 12V battery reset procedure.

  4. Confirm that the reported fault in now resolved.

According to JLR, a software update is now available as a permanent repair.
