Jan. 30, 2024
This bulletin applies to BMW G-series vehicles that experience total battery discharge.

This bulletin applies to BMW G-series (G01, G02, G12, G30, G32,G05, G06, G07, G22, G23, G26, G42) vehicles that experience total battery discharge. Due to a software error, the vehicle may sporadically not achieve sleep mode.

\As a result, the 12-volt battery becomes discharged and may cause a no-start condition. Fault code 80402F (power management, battery condition: Total discharge) is stored in the BDC (body domain controller). The cause may be software errors in the electronic gearbox control (EGS). The fix: re-program the EGS using ISTA 4.39.2x or higher.
