TSB: BMW Loses Communication

This bulletin applies to 2022 BMW X7 sports activity, 7 Series sedan and X1 sports activity vehicles. The engine may not start. There is no communication with the integrated fuel module (TFE) when diagnosing with ISTA. Fault codes may be stored in the DME  including 032B43 (low fuel pressure system, electric fuel pump, pressure too low) and CDA594 (-0x33E missing receiver DME, transmitter TFE). Additional fuel pressure related faults may also be stored. The cause: unfavorable software application could cause the TFE to remain in “bootloader mode” during certain cold start situations. New software for the TFE is upcoming in ISTA. In the meantime, perform a battery reset by disconnecting and reconnecting the power supply to the TFE to restore communication. Unplug the connector to the TFE control unit, wait at least ten seconds and reconnect.
