Some vehicles may exhibit an unusual noise in the front A/C unit when the recirculate switch is operated. This is caused by a damaged gear in the air intake actuator. Dust and sand adhered to the grease at the air intake link may disturb the movement of the air intake actuator, resulting in the damaged gear.

To eliminate the concern, grease application to the air intake link mechanism has been reduced. Clean the dust/sand from the air intake link. And replace the air intake actuator. Do not apply grease to the new actuator.
