This Week's Recalls: Nov 2-6 2026

GM’s 67,380-vehicle brake software recall leads a week that also brings Hyundai restraint faults and a do-not-drive order for eight Subarus.

General Motors

General Motors, LLC is recalling 67,380 vehicles: model year 2023–2027 Cadillac Lyriq, 2025–2026 Cadillac Celestiq, 2024–2027 Chevrolet Blazer EV, and 2026–2027 Cadillac Vistiq vehicles. The brake system control module (BSCM) contains a software defect that may cause a loss of braking under certain driving conditions.

A loss of braking ability increases the risk of a crash.

The BSCM software will be updated over the air or by a dealer, free of charge.

Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed December 14, 2026. Owners may contact Cadillac customer service at 1-800-333-4223 or Chevrolet customer service at 1-800-222-1020 and reference GM recall N262570900. Vehicle identification numbers (VINs) involved in this recall became searchable on NHTSA.gov on October 29, 2026.

Hyundai

Hyundai Motor America is recalling 37,901 vehicles: model year 2019–2022 Veloster N and 2019–2023 Kona Electric vehicles. A software error in the air bag control unit (ACU) may improperly deactivate the air bag system and seat belt pretensioners.

Air bags and seat belt pretensioners that do not activate in a crash increase the risk of injury.

Dealers will update the ACU software, free of charge.

Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed January 1, 2027. Owners may contact Hyundai customer service at 1-855-371-9460 and reference recall 311. Vehicle identification numbers (VINs) involved in this recall will become searchable on NHTSA.gov on November 6, 2026.

Chrysler

Chrysler (FCA US, LLC) is recalling 13,330 model year 2026 Dodge Durango vehicles. The terminals in the tail-light wiring harness may be damaged and cause the tail lights to fail, a noncompliance with Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) No. 108, “Lamps, Reflective Devices, and Associated Equipment.”

Tail lights that fail to illuminate properly reduce the vehicle’s visibility to other drivers, increasing the risk of a crash.

Dealers will inspect and replace the tail-light assemblies as necessary, free of charge.

Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed December 3, 2026. Owners may contact Chrysler customer service at 800-853-1403 and reference recall A2D. Vehicle identification numbers (VINs) involved in this recall became searchable on NHTSA.gov on October 29, 2026.

General Motors, LLC is recalling 12,715 model year 2025–2026 Chevrolet Express and GMC Savana vehicles. The steering gear assembly may have a nut that was not properly tightened.

A loose nut that separates from the steering gear assembly while driving can cause a loss of steering control, increasing the risk of a crash.

Dealers will inspect the steering gear serial number and replace the assembly if necessary, free of charge.

Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed December 14, 2026. Owners may contact GMC customer service at 1-888-988-7267 or Chevrolet customer service at 1-800-222-1020 and reference GM recall N262579350. Subaru

Subaru of America, Inc. is recalling 8 model year 2026 Crosstrek and Forester vehicles. The castle nut on the left-front lower control arm ball joint may be improperly fastened, allowing the ball joint to separate from the lower control arm.

Owners are advised not to drive affected vehicles until the remedy is completed. Ball-joint separation can cause a loss of vehicle control, increasing the risk of a crash.

Dealers will inspect the left-front lower control arm ball-joint assembly and replace it as necessary, free of charge.

Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed December 16, 2026. Owners may contact Subaru customer service at 1-844-373-6614 and reference recall WRI26.
