TSB: Ranger Trouble Codes

This bulletin details procedures for correcting an illuminated MIL and specific DTCs in 2024-2025 Ford Ranger vehicles built before March 17, 2025, including PCM reprogramming and coolant level inspection.

Ranger Trouble Codes

This bulletin applies to 2024-2025 Ford Ranger vehicles built on or before March 17, 2025. Some vehicles may have an incorrectly  illuminated MIL, with DTCs P1299 (overheat alert via the cylinder head temperature circuit), P1026 (intake manifold air control solenoid circuit)  and P2C39 (cylinder head temperature sensor B range/performance). Ford says that reprogramming the PCM and checking coolant level is needed to address this issue. Once reprogramming is done, inspect the vehicle’s engine coolant level at the degas bottle. If coolant level is correct, the repair is complete.
