Unfreezing Fiat muffler assembly

This bulletin applies to 2019-2020 Fiat 500X and 2018-2019 Fiat 500X vehicles, built on or before March 4, 2018, (MP) or Feb. 21, 2020, (BV and FD vehicles).

The customer may describe a crank-no-start condition in freezing temperatures. This can be caused by condensation freezing in the muffler assembly.

Inspect the muffler to see if there is a small weep hole at the bottom rear of the muffler. If not, use a 1/8-inch drill bit to drill a weep hole no deeper than one inch into the bottom rear corner.
