This bulletin applies to 2011 Porsche Cayenne vehicles equipped with a 4.8L engine. At extremely low outside temperatures of 14 degrees Fahrenheit and colder, the engine may cut out and cannot be re-started.

If the engine has been running at idle for a long time while stationary after a cold start, and/or if the vehicle is driven for a short trip at low engine speeds, the water vapor in the exhaust gas can condense and deposit in the exhaust system, freezing to form ice blockage.

If this condition is found, Porsche recommends installing a modified rear muffler with new tailpipes and clamps. This replaces the rear silencer.
