This bulletin applies to 2007-2010 Dodge Nitro vehicles equipped with a 3.7L or 4.0L engine. Some customers may experience a condition of higher than desired lateral play between the fuel filler neck and body grommet. Adding a rubber hose and clamp above the mounting bracket will prevent this condition.

Use hose P/N 52129228AE and clamp 06505322AA.

Gain access to the mounting bracket that secures the fuel filler tube to the vehicle. Adjust the fuel filler tube to make sure it is assembled correctly before installing the rubber hose an clamp. Cut a piece of rubber hose one inch long and split it open.

It may be necessary to trim the piece of hose so that it does not overlay itself when it is wrapped around the filler tube. Wrap the rubber hose around the filler tube above the hold-down bracket and install the clamp on top of the rubber hose and tighten. Check for and clear DTCs.
