Inspect for a gap between the exhaust valve actuator and the housing, and check for loose nuts.
This bulletin applies to 2018-2020 Dodge Challenger and Charger vehicles equipped with Active Exhaust System. The customer may note that the vehicle has an exhaust rattle on acceleration or deceleration in the 1500-2400 rpm range when the sport mode is off.
After test driving and confirming the noise, raise the vehicle and inspect for a gap and/or loose nuts on the actuator(s). If a gap and/or loose nuts are found, remove the exhaust valve actuator. Clean the threads on the stud and nut to remove any dirt or other contamination. Once threads are clean, install the actuator and hand-start the nuts onto the studs. Hold down the actuator so that there are no gaps between the actuator and the housing. Tighten the nuts to 35 in-lb. Lower the vehicle and test drive to confirm the repair.
