This bulletin applies to 2013 Suzuki Grand Vitara vehicles equipped with a 2.4L engine and manual transmission. The gear shift lever rear shaft assembly can come apart, with the result that the transmission cannot be operated. Applying excessive force to the shift lever can cause the lever mechanism’s rear shaft assembly to come apart.
The rear shift shaft assembly has been redesigned. The new shaft is larger in diameter and the shaft’s control joint assembly uses a stronger press fit to hold the assembly together. The early shaft assembly is no longer available. Use only the new shaft assembly P/N 28104-78K03.
