Early indications show that it is not always due to a leak in the purge line connection, but an issue or repair action that may have caused a fueling adaption drift.
Investigate and resolve all fuel system DTCs which are, or have historically, flagged in the PCM. Do not replace the purge valve if P144C-00 is set in isolation.
Once repairs have been completed, reset the PCM fueling adaption values. Drive the vehicle at highway cruise for about 5 minutes and a short city style stop/start drive in order to confirm the vehicle is now repaired.
