Jaguar Land Rover Reports False Flag DTC
This bulletin applies to 2018 Land Rover Range Rover Discovery Sport, Evoque and Velar vehicles. The engine MIL may be illuminated with DTC P0191-85 stored in the PCM.
This may be caused by an incorrect PCM calibration causing a false flag of the DTC.A Jaguar Land Rover approved Midtronics battery power supply must be connected to the vehicle’s startup battery. All ignition ON/OFF requests must be performed. Failure to do these steps may cause damage to vehicle control modules.
The Jaguar Land Rover-approved diagnostic equipment must be loaded with PATHFINDER version 211 or later. Select ECU Diagnostics. Select Powertrain Control Module. Select Update ECU. Follow on screen instructions until the application finishes successfully.
Select ECU Functions. Select Powertrain control module adaption clear. Follow the on screen instructions.
Exit the current session. If required, reset the vehicle to Transit mode. Select the Exit icon. Disconnect the diagnostic equipment and battery power supply.
