Dirty Rover Causes Warning Light

This bulletin applies to 2014 Land Rover Discovery Sport and Range Rover Evoque vehicles.

This bulletin applies to 2014 Land Rover Discovery Sport and Range Rover Evoque vehicles. Cases have been reported wherein a Hill Descent Control or Slip Control System warning light is displayed. This may be due to a build-up of contaminants on the front wheel bearing tone rings. This may cause an interruption to the signal provided by the wheel speed sensor. Cleaning the tone rings and wheel speed sensors may be sufficient to repair the condition without the need to replace the bearing and knuckle assembly.

Example of contaminant on the wheel speed sensor (top) and tone wheel (bottom).
