TSB: RAM Idle Issues

This bulletin addresses a software-related issue in 2024 RAM heavy duty trucks equipped with the 6.4L V8 Hemi engine, which may cause MIL illumination and DTC P1404. Reprogramming the PCM with the latest software resolves engine tugging and unstable idle symptoms.

RAM Idle Issues

This bulletin applies to 2024 RAM 2500, 3500, 3500 cab chassis and 4500/5500 cab chassis vehicles equipped with a 6.4L V8 heavy duty Hemi MDS engine. Customers may experience a MIL on. DTC P1404 (EGR close position performance) may be set. The engine may experience tugging and unstable idle.

The cause: PCM software. Reprogram the PCM with the latest software.
