TSB: Ford False ADAS Warning

This bulletin applies to all 2025 Ford vehicles (including Police Interceptor). Some vehicles may exhibit a random BUS indicator illuminated in the exterior mirror, with no objects near the vehicle. This may be due to the radar signal echoing off the bumper cover and through the trailer hitch bar.

Remove the rear bumper cover to gain access to the trailer hitch bar. Using a clean cloth, clean both exterior ends of the hitch bar. Cut three pieces of 3M Foil Tape 3381 5 inches long by 1.89 inches wide. Overlap the pieces by about ¼ inch to create a patch 5 x 5 inches.

Install the patch at one end of the hitch bar, folding about 1 inch on all side of the bar, securing the patch to the bar. Repeat this on the opposite end of the bar. Reinstall the rear bumper cover.
