This bulletin applies to 2020 Land Rover Range Rover Evoque R-Dynamic S vehicles. The electric vehicle (EV) driving mode may not operate as expected when selected by the driver. The engine may start unexpectedly. An “EV Mode not available” warning will be displayed in the instrument panel.
The most likely cause is due to the PCM air-fuel adaptations being in an incomplete state. This can occur following a recent PCM software Over The Air (SOTA) update or after clearing DTCs stored in the PCM, which results in adaptations being reset. The PCM needs to identify a variety of engine running conditions in order to re-learn the adaptations, allowing the EV driving mode to operate as expected.
Complete the PCM Fuel Adaptation Re-Initialization applications in TOPix Cloud.
Make sure that the EV battery has sufficient state of charge and then drive the vehicle, periodically selecting the EV mode to confirm.
