This bulletin applies to a range of Buick, Cadillac, Chevy and GMC vehicles equipped with 2.0L or 2.5L engines.

During the programming of some ECMs, the technician may be prompted to input the engine identification number. This is being done for calibration to engine tracking purposes.

The engine identification number is found on the engine tag. Tag locations may involve the front timing cover or side of the engine block near the oil pan.

When entering the number, do enter any spaces if spaces exist on the tag. The engine identification number is denoted by the red rectangle in the accompanying photo. The actual tag does not feature this red rectangle.
