Conditions may include or more of the following:

- Engine will not start

- Hard to start, with squeal noise

- Fan belt broken

- Loss of power steering

- Loss of power brake assist

The cause of the condition may be water leaking from the cowl area into the generator vents. Under certain weather conditions, the water can freeze inside and prevent the generator from turning.

Replace the generator, belt and any other pulleys that have been contaminated with rubber buildup from the belt heating up.

Seal the water leak at the cowl with Kent Automotive High-Tech Clear Seam Sealer to the area shown in one of the following images.
