This bulletin applies to 2013-2015 Fiat 500E vehicles built on or before Sept. 26, 2015, equipped with 83 KW electric motor. An update of the ABS module and regenerative brake controller (RBC) module software is now available.
DTCs that may be present include U0001-00 (CAN BUS which sets in ABS and RBC modules), U1487-00 (implausible data received from regenerative brake controller which sets in the ABS module) and U1200-00 (lost communication with power inverter module, which sets in the ABSW module).
Flashing both the ABS and RBC modules is required. Use the latest available software. Upon completion of the reprogramming, an additional 10-second key cycle (off to on) may be required to allow an active DTCM (drive train control module) DTC to clear.
