    Reprogramming Fiat Electric Power Steering Control Unit

    2016 Fiat 500X vehicles built on or before Sept. 2, 2015, may exhibit the EPS (electronic power steering) instrument cluster lamp on. DTC C1214-87 (conf data code request message – missing message error set in the EPS control unit) may be set.

    Scan for DTCs. If other DTCs are also present, record and repair as needed before reprogramming. Reprogram the EPS with the latest available software.
