Cadillac Misfire

June 9, 2021
This bulletin applies to 2015-2019 Cadillac Escalade vehicles equipped with a 6.2L L86 engine.

This bulletin applies to 2015-2019 Cadillac Escalade vehicles equipped with a 6.2L L86 engine. The SES lamp may be on, with DTC P0282 and P0300 set current or in history. The possible cause may involve damaged harness wires.

If performing diagnostic checks for P0282 does not isolate the concern, performing a wiggle test may or may not show the concern. Remove the intake manifold to inspect #8 injector wiring, where bank 2 injector harness breaks out of the engine main harness. Inspect for hard contact with the transmission bell housing. If this is suspected, remove the transmission cross member, lower the trans, pull the harness up into the engine compartment to cut open and inspect for a chaffed circuit. If damaged wires are found, repair as needed.

If a rub mark is found on the wrapping, open up to inspect the damaged wires.
