Memory Problems Strike Mazda

This bulletin concerns some 2013 Mazda MX-5 vehicles.

Some 2013 Mazda MX-5 vehicles may experience a malfunction indicator lamp on with diagnostic trouble codes P0601:00 (power train control modules memory check sum error) when the accelerator pedal is pushed while in first gear just after acceleration. This concern is caused by the improper control logic of the PCM. To correct the problem, the control logic of the PCM has been changed. Reboot the important decision system to clear memory before reprogramming. Using IDS software 85.04 or later, reprogram the PCM.
