Owners of 2015 Jeep Wrangler vehicles equipped with a 3.6L engine and 6-speed manual transmission, and built on or before March 16, 2015, may experience a malfunction indicator lamp (MIL) on. The technician may find Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) P1239 (engine oil temperature too low) even after extended idling. There may be a perceived misfire under normal acceleration, and the starter protection feature will be disabled.

Using a scan tool, check for other DTCs. Record and correct as needed before proceeding. Reprogram the power-train control module (PCM) with the latest available software using software level 15.04 or higher.
