Yellow Headlight Beams Emit From Ram
The low beam headlamps on 2015 RAM 1500/2500/3500 trucks may be dim or appear yellow. This bulletin involves verifying the current BCM headlamp voltage setpoint and performing a vehicle reconfiguration if needed.
Using wiTECH check to see if “Left Low Beam Voltage Regulation” and “Right Low Beam Voltage Regulation” are set at 13.8 volts. On the front page of wiTECH, select the BCM. Select ECU Details. Select the Configuration tab. Scroll down the list and find Left Low Beam Voltage Regulation and Right Low Beam Voltage Regulation.
Is this vehicle an LX, LD or LA? If yes, proceed to Step 3. If no, proceed to Step 4.
Is the Right and Left Low Beam Voltage Regulation set to 13.8 volts? If no, proceed to Step 5.
Is the Right and Left Low Beam Regulation set to 14.0 volts? If yes, this bulletin does not apply. Perform normal diagnostics. If no, proceed to Step 5.
Reconfigure the vehicle. This routine is available under the “Diagnostic Procedures” tab found on the home “Vehicle View” page of wiTECH. Select Restore Vehicle Configuration.
