Tips to Start a Cold Jeep

This bulletin applies to 2012-2014 Jeep Compass/Patriot vehicles. The engine may be hard to start at temperatures below -20 degrees Fahrenheit.

This bulletin applies to 2012-2014 Jeep Compass/Patriot vehicles. The MIL may be on accompanied by DTC P0335 (crankshaft position sensor circuit), U0140 (lost communication with body control module) and P219A (air-fuel ratio cylinder imbalance, bank 1).

The engine, if designed for E15 fuel, may be hard to start at cold temperatures of -20 degrees Fahrenheit. Reprogram the PCM with the latest software and clear all DTCs.
