Fixing The Whining Chevy

Some owners of 2015-2019 Chevy Colorado trucks equipped with a 2.5L or 3.6L engine and 6 or 8-speed automatic transmission may comment about a leak, whining and/or screeching type noise coming from the front of the vehicle at all times. The condition may be caused by the vent hose for the front axle being misrouted and kinked.

This causes the front axle housing to build too much pressure resulting in seal failure.

Properly re-route the vent hose down behind the electric power steering (EPS) so that it does not make contact with the EPS rubber boot or kink, and replace the front drive axle inner shaft output seals. The output seals are available as P/N 23348300.
