Giving BMW a Better Boost

This bulletin applies to turbo diesel powered BMW vehicles equipped with the N47T or N57T diesel engine. A lack of boos/limited performance may be encountered, the MIL may be on and DTC 244C00 may be stored in the DDE (boost pressure control, control deviation/charging pressure too low/positive deviation).

The clips that hold the boost actuator rod for the variable nozzle technology (VNT) turbo may have come loose. A new repair kit is available that includes improved clips and a new actuator rod. Replace the rod and clips on the VNT actuator/turbo. The kit for N47T is P/N 11 65 8 596 430. The kit for N57T is P/N 11 65 8 596 432. Note that the turbo does not need to be removed to complete the repair.
