Some 2011-2012 Ford F-Super Duty vehicles equipped with the 6.7L diesel engine may exhibit a Stop Safely Now instrument cluster message with the MIL on, with DTCs P200E and P200C.

1. Using the IDS (integrated diagnostic system) or equivalent scan tool, retrieve all continuous memory DTCs. Are DTCs P200E and P200C present? If no, refer to the powertrain control/emissions diagnosis manual for normal diagnosis. If yes, proceed to Step 2.

2. Obtain the EGT readings from freeze frame data when DTCs P200E and P200C were set.

  a. If only one EGT sensor is reading 1562 degrees Fahrenheit or higher, replace that sensor.

  b. If two or more EGT sensors are reading 1,562 degrees F or higher, this bulletin does not apply. Refer to the manual pinpoint test RC to diagnose the concern. EGT locations are different for chassis cab and pickup truck applications.

EGT sensors are available as P/N AC3Z-5J213-B.
