The technician should be able to duplicate the concern by commanding a purge and seal on the EVAP system using GDS2. As the vacuum reaches 3 to 5 inches, the popping noise should be duplicated.
The cause of the concern is the auxiliary fuel module in the left side of the fuel tank changing height (spring loaded leg) as the fuel tank slightly collapses.
Replace the auxiliary fuel module with a newly designed part if you experience this concern. The new part is available as fuel sender kit P/N 13592089.
