Q: How did the tool function as far as saving you time?

A: Being able to easily maneuver a large/heavy truck tire onto a vehicle not only saves time but provides a safer working environment. Every technician, young or old, can relate to how labor intensive over-sized, off-road, or commercial truck tires can be to remove/install on a vehicle. Protecting ourselves from injuries (especially our backs!) is key to longevity in the automotive repair industry.

Q: What kind of setup was involved before using the product?

A: There was no setup required. The tool came 100 percent assembled and ready to use.

Q: How easy was it to use?

A: Very easy! It’s a simple concept, simple design, lightweight, and a brilliant idea. The tool simply slides under the bottom of the tire and can be pivoted to raise the tire onto the lug studs effortlessly. Using this tool prevents unnecessary strain on the lower back when removing or installing a wheel onto a vehicle. Being able to easily hang a tire onto a vehicle improves technicians’ efficiency when a service requires removal of large/heavy tires.

Q: Was there a manual included?

A: There was not a manual included with the product. There was a small postcard with information to view a YouTube demo videos online. Additional instruction, beyond the suggested instructional video, was not required for proper use of tool. All the technicians in the shop immediately understood the concept of the tool when it was demonstrated by me and/or the suggested instructional video.

Q: What features did you like?

A: Its simplicity! There was no lengthy setup to use the tool. Just grab and go. The tool is well built and very sturdy. I can see it lasting for many years to come.

Q: Is there any way you could think to improve or add to this tool?

A: The handle is not much of a handle. I think a better style grip on the tool would make it more comfortable to use.

Q: What types of jobs did you use this tool for?

A: Removing or installing tire assemblies onto or off a vehicle. The instructional videos demonstrate using the tool on the concrete floor but I found that it is also possible to use the tool on a drive-on style hoist. Our highest weight capacity hoist is our drive-on lift. It is common for us to have larger vehicles with larger and heavier tires that require removal while on these style lifts. This tool makes that scenario much easier and safer to accomplish.

Q: How does this tool compare to other tools you’ve used like it?

A: I have seen demonstrations of tire lifting apparatuses that allow you to lift a tire/wheel, but they’re very costly and time consuming to operate. I haven’t used one nor have any plans to try one in the future. The Tire Tool Products’ TRAC Tire Jack offers a cost-effective solution for lifting heavy tires.
