Catalytic Converter Tops 'Most-Repaired' List
The most common check engine light-related repair in 2020 was catalytic converter replacement, according to CarMD.com.
The automotive diagnostic data and business solutions company released its annual CarMD Vehicle Health Index on Wednesday.
Catalytic converter replacement was the most common, check engine light-related repair, followed by oxygen sensor replacement, ignition coil and spark plug replacement, mass air flow sensor replacement and fuel cap replacement.Â
The report also detailed that the average car repair cost, $378.77, was down 1.6% in 2020. Labor costs were down 2.8%Â and parts costs fell by 1%.
