A large fire broke out shortly before 8:30 a.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 24 at AZ Master Mechanics in Phoenix, but is fortunately now under control, Arizona's Family (3TV/CBS5) news release reported.
More than 50 firefighters responded after the first initial team upgraded the situation to a first-alarm response. With a concern for possible hazardous materials, such as automotive oils, the firefighters took a defensive posture to fight the fire, the news release reported.
The fire took about 45 minutes to get under control. Capt. Todd Keller with the Phoenix Fire Dept. said all auto shop employees safely escaped the building, and no one was hurt, noted the release.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
