Fire destroys two Chicago auto shops

Both shops were demolished after a massive fire broke out over the weekend.

A massive fire destroyed two auto repair shops over the weekend on the 5000 block of North Clark Street in Andersonville, a neighborhood of Chicago.  

According to NBC 5 Chicago, the fire broke out in the early morning and was so large authorities declared a 3-11 alarm, leading approximately 250 firefighters to respond to the scene. 

One individual from a nearby building was taken to the hospital. 

Two auto shops, Smashy Automotive and Star Auto Repair and Body Shop were both destroyed in the fire. 

Both shops were demolished this week by the city's Department of Buildings, noted Block Club Chicago

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
