TPMS Tech Bulletin: 2024 Lexus LX series
TPMS System Overview
The 2024 Lexus LX series uses a direct TPMS (Tire Pressure Monitoring System), which consists of sensors mounted inside each wheel. The system uses wireless radio signals to transmit tire pressure data to the vehicle's onboard computer. When the pressure drops significantly in one or more tires, a warning message appears on the multi-information display, and an icon lights up on the instrument panel.
LTR TPMS Solution
LTR TPMS sensors provide a validated solution for servicing the TPMS system on the 2024 Lexus LX series. These universal sensors offer flexibility by allowing programming both on and off the vehicle.
Sensor Programming Methods:
- Create New Unique ID: Program the sensor with a brand-new, unique identification number.
- Copy Existing TPMS ID: Clone the sensor by copying the ID from the existing sensor stored in the vehicle's memory.
- Manual ID Entry: Manually input a new ID into the sensor.
- Batch Programming: Program up to four sensors simultaneously for efficiency.
OBDII Relearn:
- OBDII Connector is required; see your TPMS toolkit
- Confirm TPMS sensors are properly installed
- Adjust tire pressures to the placard value
- Trigger all four sensors of the vehicle by activating your TPMS tool on the sidewall of the tire next to the valve stem.
- Upon successfully triggering all four TPMS sensors, connect the OBDII connector to your TPMS tool first and to the vehicle OBDII port second.
- Turn ignition ON
- Connect the OBDII module/connector to the vehicle DLC port
- Press “OK” on the TPMS tool to transfer the tool’s collected data to the vehicle.
- Turn ignition OFF, then ON
- Drive the vehicle for up to five minutes above 12 mph.
