This bulletin applies to 2019 Mazda CX-5 Turbo vehicles produced before Oct. 27, 2018, and 2019 CX-5 Turbo vehicles (Mexico) built before Oct. 27, 2018. Some customers may notice a rattling noise coming from the left rear while driving on bumpy roads.

The noise may be caused by a lack of clearance between the left rear exhaust hanger bracket and the hanger rod. The shape of the left rear hanger bracket has since been changed.

Measure the gap between the left rear hanger bracket and the hanger rod. If the gap is 7 mm or less, replace the main silencer with a modified one according to the instructions on MGSS online (exhaust system removal/installation).

The insulator or remainder of the exhaust system does not need to be removed to replace the silencer. Replace the silencer by removing the two nuts and separating the three rubber hangers from the main silencer.
