Selling points
The EV Tester from Power Probe is designed for EV technicians. This compact ECE-R100-compliant multimeter combines the three essential EV testing tools: CATIII/1000V & CATIV/600V-rated voltmeter, 1,000V insulation tester, and true milliohm meter.
Features and benefits
- Bonding test (Kelvin 4-wire type) up to 1A: Verifies true low resistance connections under load, especially important in high voltage circuit connections.
- Insulation resistance test up to 1,000 VDC and 200GΩ with PI, DAR Calculation: Extremely accurate low-range resistance testing (see Bonding Test).
- CATIII/1,000V and CATIV/600V Rated: Correct range and safety rating for EV servicing.
Application
- Testing high voltage cable connections and similar by verifying true low resistance connections under load (true milliohm meter (4-wire) for precise measurement (down to .0001mΩ)) and two wire resistance test up to 40kΩ
- Voltage leakage and damage testing on high voltage circuits (like motor windings) via insulation test (up to 1,000VDC 200GΩ)
- Test capacitors up to 1,000μF
- Wire length calculator to determine wire length by gauge, great for testing motor windings
- Basic voltage measurement up to 1,000V
Origin
This tool came from the desire to supply technicians with a single tool for EV servicing rather than three tools that all EV technicians need when working with EV systems.
Manufacturing/engineering specifications
The EVTEST is made in Taiwan from various plastics and rubbers. It features a color TFT screen and a rugged housing. The tool weighs 1.4 lbs.
Storage and display
The tool is shipped in a cardboard box, packaged nicely in a branded Power Probe canvas bag with all included accessories. There is one EV Test per package. The tool displays well on a shelf or toolboxes next to other electrical equipment and testing tools.
