TSB: Mercedes Steering Wheel Display

This bulletin addresses partial or complete dark displays on AMG steering wheel buttons in select 2025 Mercedes-Benz models, recommending software updates and reset procedures to resolve the issue.

Mercedes Steering Wheel Glitch

This bulletin applies to 2025 Mercedes-Benz model series 206, 214, 223, 236, 297, 295, 294, 232, 192 and 254 equipped with a multi-function steering wheel.  One or more of the ASCM (AMG) steering wheel button displays may be partially or totally dark.


Software can cause a partial display on the ASCM.

  1. Perform a hard reset (disconnect power supply) of control unit A74/2 (ASCM) for 2 minutes.
  2. Perform a software update of the A74/2 ASCM, N145 (DRVU) and A26/17 (HU).
  3. Reset the user profile via the head unit settings menu (full factory reset).
  4. Perform initial startup of the N145DRVU and A26/17HU.
