TSB: Porsche Adaptive Cruise Control
Porsche Adaptive Cruise Control
This bulletin applies to 2012 and later Porsche vehicles equipped with adaptive cruise control. Adaptive cruise control (ACC) may disengage and display a warning message (fault code D000-02). The customer may report that the majority of a recent trip had bad weather, few other vehicles present or few turns and hills. Multiple conditions may cause this:
-
Ice/snow. If ice or snow blocks the distance sensor, the ACC system recognizes that it is “blind” and will disengage and display a warning message unless the blockage is cleared.
-
Featureless terrain and few other vehicles present. If the road is featureless (few turns/hills) and the radar does not see another vehicle or object for an extended distance or time, it will also assume that the system is “blind”. This is a limitation of the system.
Make sure that the sensor is clean and inform the customer of conditions that can cause the issue.
