This bulletin applies to 2016-2022 Mazda CX-3, 2020-2024 CX-30, 2017-2022 CX-5, 2023-2024 CX-50, 2016-2022 CX-9, 2014-2024 Mazda3, 2014-2021 Mazda6,  2016-2022 MX-5 and 2022 MX-30 vehicles. 

Some owners may complain that the ambient temperature on the instrument cluster display is showing more than 50 degrees F lower than the actual ambient temperature, resulting in insufficient performance pf the air conditioning. This is caused by inappropriate soldering in the ambient temperature sensor. The soldering process has since been enhanced. 

Check the lot number of the ambient temperature sensor. If the lot number is before lot 0411 of 2021/December, replace the sensor. Make sure to disconnect the battery negative terminal during sensor replacement. Otherwise, the sensor may not reset correctly. 

SENSOR LOT NUMBER 

  1. First 4 digits indicate year. 
  2. Digit 5-6 indicate month. 
  3. Digit 7-8 indicate the production line identification code. 
  4. The last 4 digits indicate the product lot number.
