Quieting Lexus pedal spring noise

Some 2018-2021 Lexus LC 500, LC 500h, LS 500 and LS 500h; and some 2021 LC 500c vehicles may exhibit a “spring” noise upon release of the accelerator pedal.

If this condition is found, detach the four claws and remove the accelerator pedal pad, then remove the two mounting bolts and remove the accelerator pedal. Disengage the accelerator pedal sensor rod from the pedal retainer. Install a new accelerator pedal per the parts list shown here. Engage the accelerator pedal sensor rod into the pedal retainer. Install the two pedal bolts and tighten to 66 in-lb. Attach the four claws to install the pedal pad and confirm pedal operation.
