Fixing Acura cold weather problem

Under certain circumstances, 2019-2023 Acura RDX and 2021-2023 TLX vehicles may experience drivability concerns.

Under certain circumstances, 2019-2023 Acura RDX and 2021-2023 TLX vehicles may experience drivability concerns, which may set the following DTCs:

- P0300 (random misfire detected)

- P0301 No. 1 cylinder misfire detected)

- P0302 (No. 2 cylinder misfire detected)

- P0303 (No. 3 cylinder misfire detected)

- P0304 (No. 4 cylinder misfire detected)

- P0172 (fuel system too rich)

This issue is most common in regions with cold weather. During engine start in cold weather, a miscalculation in the PCM causes the air-fuel ratio to exceed DTC rich criteria. Re-set the maintenance minder light and replace only the oil. Clear any DTCs and update the PCM idle learn procedure (when changing oil, always use a new drain plug washer P/N 94109-14000 and use the specified 0W-20 oil.

When updating software, use i-HDS software version 1.008.024 or later, HDS software version 3.105.028 or later and Honda ECU reprogramming 2.6.0.0 or later.
