After driving in reverse and steering in a 2014-2015 Acura MDX, the owner may hear a buzz or grunt after shifting from reverse to drive while turning the steering wheel.

The electric power steering (EPS) software is designed to provide correct feel in reverse and forward directions. Updated software is designed to prevent the buzz or grunt during the transition of rapidly changing from reverse to drive while turning the steering wheel.

Update the EP control unit software using application version 3.01.40 or later and HDS software version 3.015.020 or later. Before beginning the repair, make sure that both the HDS and MVCI are updated. If the MVCI displays “This vehicle does not need an update at this time” during the update, the software has already been installed.
