This bulletin applies to 2017-2018 Porsche Boxster vehicles.
If the owner reports that the parking brake warning is illuminated, or the parking brake is making a noise, check if the parking brake has fault codes set for calibration or adjustment.
Parking brake shoes were manufactured that were too long on one end. This resulted in not enough clearance for the shoes. A visible gap will exist with the new improved shoe.
Replace shoes with P/N 971.698.533.C. If the parking brake actuator has been damaged, replace it as well. Vehicles produced as of Aug. 29, 2018, already have the new shoes.
