Quieting Toyota squeaking noise

Some 2014-2019 Toyota Highlander and Highlander HV vehicles may exhibit a squeaking noise from the rear suspension.

This may be more noticeable in colder temperatures and may occur when traveling over uneven roads or when the vehicle comes to a complete stop.

Confirm the condition exists using chassis ears/test drive. Applying soapy water to the suspected rear trailing arm bushing may temporarily reduce the noise and help to identify the noise source.

Updated rear trailing arm assemblies are available to correct this condition. A small identification dot is featured on the mounts. The dot side should face toward the vehicle front.
