This bulletin applies to Mercedes-Benz Sprinter vehicles equipped with a 5-speed automatic transmission. The customer notes that the gear range cannot be engaged. The automatic transmission has no power flow at selector lever position D or R.

The cause may be that the shift cable is not engaged at the transmission abutment and the shift cable is incorrectly adjusted.

Engage the shift cable at the transmission abutment. Check shift operation and adjust if necessary. Shift the lever into the D position. Detach the selector lever cover. Push the sliding piece down. When it springs back, the shift cable is adjusted.
