Owners of 2013-2014 RAM 1500 vehicles equipped with Quadra-Lift air suspension and built on or before May 10, 2014, may exhibit a false message “Battery Voltage Low – Start Engine to Change Ride Height” when unlocking or locking the doors.

A battery drain may happen when using the key fob to stop the vehicle from lowering. The ASCM does not go to sleep and the CAN-C bus stays awake. Using a scan tool, verify that no DTCs are present. If the customer's concern was the battery voltage was low or completely drained, it may have a number of unrelated DTCs. Charge the battery, clear all DTCs and see if any charging system DTC resets.

Install a battery charger to ensure that the battery voltage does not drop below 13.2 volts. Do not allow the charging voltage to climb above 13.5 volts during the flash process. Reprogram the ASCM with the latest software. The wiTECH software level must be at 14.03 or higher to perform this procedure.
