This bulletin applies to 2013-2014 Dodge Ram 1500 trucks equipped with a 5.7L engine, and built on or before May 10, 2014. A false message “Battery Voltage Low – Start Engine to Change Ride Height” may appear in the EVIC (electronic vehicle information center) when unlocking or locking the doors.

A battery drain may happen when using the key fob to stop the vehicle from lowering. The ASCM (air suspension control module) does not go to sleep and the CAN-C bus stays awake.

To correct the issue, reprogram the ASCM with software release 14.03 or higher.

If the module fails the software update and becomes unresponsive, do not replace the module. Pull the ASCM fuse (F50) which is located in the underhood power distribution center. After you regain communication with the module, replace the fuse and perform the software update again.
